After a successful inaugural year, Dermalogica and SABEN are excited to announce the return of the popular EmpowHER scholarship for a second year in 2024. Both brands are trailblazing names in their industries and are champions of female entrepreneurship. They have adapted the grant (with the help of the support of The Icehouse) to empower and inspire even more Kiwi women to take their businesses to the next level, fostering innovation, leadership, and diversity.

Entries for the 2024 scholarship are open now! The EmpowHER Scholarship 2024 aims to take female entrepreneurship to even greater heights and will further extend the categories to benefit more women in business.

The 2024 programme includes:

•A total prize pool valued at almost $28,000.

•A substantial prize for the runner up valued at over $5,694.

•The addition of a new prize category for an up and coming female-founded start-up to the value of $2,999.

•One-on-one coaching with each of the three Chief Executive Officers for each of the prize categories.

•Session with Frank Accounting – Knowing Your Numbers!

Entry and eligibility for the EmpowHER scholarship details:

•To be eligible for the EmpowHER scholarship the overall winner must meet the following criteria:the business needs to be 3-5 years old (and show proof of this), and in the enterprise stage ofdevelopment with an estimated turnover of between $500,000 – $3 million.

•To be eligible for the start-up scholarship the winner must meet the following criteria: the business needs to be 1-2 years old (and show proof of this) and in the start-up phase of development with an estimated turnover of between $250,000 – $500,000.

•Submissions for the EmpowHER grant will be live from March 8 2024 until 22nd April, applicants can visit either http://www.dermalogica.co.nz or http://www.SABEN.co.nz to submit a business and to see the full entry criteria, mechanics and full terms and conditions.

•The two scholarship winners and the ten runners-up will be selected by SABEN and Dermalogica NZ in consultation with The Icehouse from the pool of all eligible entrants. All entrants will be assessed against the core criteria defined in the terms and conditions.

•The winner will be officially announced via http://www.empowHER and http://www.dermalogica.co.nz and http://www.SABEN.co.nz in June 2024.

The $21,695 EmpowHER scholarship grant includes:

•$5K financial business boost.

•The prize includes 12 months of personalised business coaching from each of the three brands CEO’s, Natasha Bourke from Dermalogica, Roanne Jacobson from SABEN and Liz Wotherspoon from The Icehouse. These will be monthly 60 minute coaching sessions, either face to face at The Icehouse, Dermalogica’s or SABENs head offices (if the recipient is in Auckland), or virtually if not. The value of this coaching package is $10,000.

•Plus, one workshop from The Icehouse valued at $2,195 excl GST.

•A Dermalogica voucher to the value of $1,000 worth of professional-grade skincare products.

•$1,000 SABEN voucher towards purchasing a business bag and/or accessories from the range.

•Session with Felicity/Frank Accounting – Knowing Your Numbers! A session to review the finance function including reporting, operation, review structure and goals aligned with the business101 of P&L & Balance Sheet. Valued at $2,500

The $5,694 runner-up prize for the EmpowHER Scholarship includes:

•One workshop from The Icehouse valued at $2,195 excl GST

•One hours coaching from the three CEO’s, Natasha Bourke from Dermalogica, Roanne Jacobson from SABEN and Liz Wotherspoon from The Icehouse (valued at $2,499)

•A Dermalogica voucher to the value of $500 worth of professional-grade skincare products.

•$500 SABEN voucher to purchase a business bag and/or accessories from the brand.

The $3,999 start-up prize includes:

•One hours coaching from the three CEO’s, Natasha Bourke from Dermalogica, Roanne Jacobson from SABEN and Liz Wotherspoon from The Icehouse (valued at $2,499)

•A Dermalogica voucher to the value of $250 worth of professional-grade skincare products.

•$250 SABEN voucher towards purchasing a business bag and/or accessories from the brand.

•1 Hour Session with Felicity/Frank Accounting – Knowing Your Numbers!  A 1 hour session to review the basics of knowing your numbers as a start-up. Worth $1000
